All about Google Glass| Criticism about Google Glass| Why Google glass is stopped.

Google Glass


Google Glass look like simple sun glasses but it has a display to show all kinds of notifications(like smartphone), it also has WiFi, Bluetooth, camera and it supports voice commands. Wearers communicated with the Internet via natural language voice commands by saying "OK, Glass". It has an optical head-mounted display designed in the shape of a pair of eyeglasses. Google glass was developed by Google X. 




Features of Google Glass:

Camera: 

 Google Glass has the ability to take photos and can record upto 720p HD video.

Display:

Google Glass uses a liquid crystal on silicon (LCoS). Which is field-sequential color system, LED illuminated display. (Explorer version). Display's LED illumination is P-polarized

Software:

2013, Google released the Mirror API for allowing developers to start making apps for this Glass. It supports many existing Google applications, such as Google Now, Google Maps, Google+, and Gmail. Google also offers a companion for Android and iOS app called MyGlass. Which allows the user to configure and manage the glass.

Touch Pad:

Touch pad is allowing users to control the device by swiping through the interface displayed on the screen. A touchpad is located on the right side of the Glass. By sliding backward shows current events like weather and sliding forward shows past events like phone calls, photos, videos, messeges etc.

Voice command:


An alternating method for controlling this device is voice command. To activate Glass tap on the touchpad and say "Ok, Glass." Once Glass is activated wearers can say an action, such as "Take a picture", "Record a video" etc. Or wearers can tilt their heads 30° upward and glass will become active.

Google glass criticism and Why it is stopped.


There are controversy that google Glass would cause security problems and violate privacy rights. Glass is always on and recording everything. It etiquette and ethics of using the device in public and recording people without their permission. So that testers suggest users can expect "curious stares" from people around them and several incidents of fights and verbal. Disagreements have been arrived between the Glass wearer and people around them who did not wish to be recorded in a public place.
Driving while wearing Google Glass was banned in many countries. For safety purpose. On January 15, 2015 Google announced that they would stop producing this Google Glass prototype.
